Off to China

Hey everyone,
I am moving to China tomorrow, and as you may already know, blogger is inaccessible behind the Great Firewall. I don't know how long this blog will remain inactive, at most the entire time I'm in China, and at least a few weeks until I get settled and work out a way to email the pictures to a friend in America who can upload them.

In the meantime, I am very excited to announce my new webcomic, 14 Nights, will be released some time in the coming month. It will be at www.14nights.com, which is happily NOT blocked by the Chinese firewall. I hope you will enjoy it.

Forest

Started using Inkscape, the open-source vector program. I love it! There will be more vector graphics in the future, I think.

Monday, July 12, 2010

Here's an old one I hadn't uploaded before. I didn't figure anyone but me would like it, but then someone bought the original. I guess it just goes to show you're never as strange as you like to believe you are.

Creature 11

This creature uses the strange fatty things protruding from its chest to release a nutritious fluid which nourishes the creature's offspring. Sounds painful, really.

Terrarium

This one is a little old. I forgot to upload it before.
In other news, Stumptown Comic Fest is this weekend. I'll be there, but unfortunately I won't have a table.

Experiments

Some experimenting with techniques. I'm happy with the moon. The tree needs more work. Next time I will certainly cut all the holes in the mask and do the white paint all at once. Also, it looks best where there are more leaf details.

Vulnerable

It bothered me how unfinished it looked. I had to color it. The paper is thin stuff, good only for ink. Colored pencil was the only other option, really.
